Does anyone here ride western style? I might start this autumn and would like to know a little more I've only been riding horses in the "normal European style" and from what I understand there's a huge difference between them

#2 yes i do. Have you been riding english then? there is not a huge difference. Position is the same as well as steering and command. Showing position is a tad different. The big differences are in the way the horse moves and the things you will be doing. Western is more about speed. The tack is very different as well, that is all really.

Yeah, I guess I've been doing English riding. I thought there was a Hugh difference in steering. I feel like I've been told tof always have contact with the horses mouth and in addition to that use my legs, and that western riding is more about the legs and less about the mouth
